Ariana Grande
Brighter Days Ahead
For most artists, the process of selecting a director to collaborate with is both intensely personal and deeply rooted in creative affinity, so when that bond is built and a shared vision is established, the result of that partnership can be truly iconic.
Christian Breslauer formed a creative bond with Ariana Grande around the release of her latest album, Eternal Sunshine, at a time when Grande was openly reclaiming the narrative around her artistry.
Their ongoing collaboration has seen Breslauer create the entire visual arc around the album, from its launch track bop yes, and?, through fan favourite we can’t be friends (wait for your love) and the sultry the boy is mine.
Having clearly won over the trust of the artist and being creatively embraced by the Ariana stardom, Breslauer and Grande decided to surprise fans with the announcement of one last treat to round out the album era, marking the drop of the extended edition with a remarkably accomplished and ambitious short film of the same title - Brighter Days Ahead.
Literally during the live stream of the film, we reached out to Breslauer’s team at London Alley in Los Angeles to be first in line to interview the extraordinarily talented storyteller and dive down the rabbit hole of his world building promos, captivating narrative metaphors and encyclopaedic visual culture references.
